How can this be an abstraction when there’s nothing it was abstracted from? This came about — though I can no longer detail how — without reference to something my neck would swivel to assess as I placed another effect.
Surely some critic has come up with a resonant phrase to go shoulder-to-shoulder with terms like portrait, landscape, still-life. Even Gestural, Op Art, Minimalist. The artist can only say “It feels right.”
It exists, therefore it is.
