Merriam-Webster defines Rhetoric as the study of writing or speaking as a means of communication or persuasion.

Pictures use nonverbal messages that carry meanings. Books have been written on this. The rules of rhetoric describe formal means of arguing a point. In Clastics, the  art of combining images to “speak,” the rules of visual design provide a grammar you can read.

We grew up breathing television, newspapers  and books. The visual tricks of advertising are imprinted on our brains, like it or not. You know how to read images. Advertising forms a sky-high school-marm who has taught each of us from birth.
